Argentinian side Boca Juniors are interested in bringing Ever Banega back to the club, according to reports in Marca this weekend.
Banega has a contract with Sevilla until 2020, and he is rumoured to be unsatisfied with their end to the season, and Boca are monitoring the situation with interest.
"Ever is a top player, that knows the club well, said Club President Daniel Angelici.
"It would be a big leap forward if we could bring him back to the club.
"But we have repatriated players before, just as we did with Fernando Gago in 2013."
Marca also quotes Andalusian newspaper El Desmarque, which states that Boca have already put together a salary package for Banega when his contract expires – with a three year contract on offer for the 30-year old midfielder.
Banega started his career with Boca, making 28 appearances in the 2007-08 season.
