Real Madrid reject Mauricio Pochettino claims on training

Real Madrid have rejected claims from Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino that they rejected a requested to sleep at their training ground.

The Argentine boss claimed on Spanish radio station Cadena Ser on Thursday that Madrid president Florentino Perez had rejected a request from Spurs to sleep on their Valdebebas training ground.

“Real Madrid is surprised by the suggestions made by the coach of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino, about a supposed request made to our club that his team could stay at the Ciudad Real Madrid before the final of the Champions League,” read a Madrid statement.

“Real Madrid wants to make it clear it is completely false this request happened. All requests have referred only to the use of the training pitches and changing rooms. And all of them have been granted by our club.

“Real Madrid also wants to emphasise the accommodation is assigned by UEFA. And that at no time has our club been asked if these teams could be accommodated in the facilities of Ciudad Real Madrid.”
