Atletico Madrid, Porto stalemate on Alex Telles

Atletico Madrid are not prepared to match the €40m release clause of FC Porto defender Alex Telles, report Marca.

Telles has also been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Juventus while Porto are said to be adopting a stance that they will not sell the defender for less than his clause.

Atleti are likely to strengthen in the position this summer following Lucas Hernandez’s €80m move to Bayern Munich while Filipe Luis is also out of contract.

The 26-year-old has previously enjoyed spells at Inter and Galatasaray and last season helped Porto to their first league title since 2013.

A previous report in Diario AS also outlined a number of other potential left-back options with Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico, Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo and Jose Luis Gaya of Valencia under consideration.

The club are reported in Brazil to be negotiating for Athletico Paranaense full-back Renan Lodi – a 21-year-old who is reportedly valued at €20m.

Diego Godin has also confirmed his departure from Atleti this summer with a defensive overhaul increasingly likely.
