Eden Hazard Chelsea contract ‘a problem’ – Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri admits he ‘does not know the future’ of reported Real Madrid target Eden Hazard: “The problem is the new contract.”

Hazard has already scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists for the current FA Cup holders this season and a move to Real Madrid had been looking increasingly likely.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the outgoing European champions with reports that he is currently house-hunting in the Spanish capital.

“I don't know,” Sarri told reporters of Hazard, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2020.

“You have to ask the club and the problem is the new contract. But I want to respect his decision.

“He will go in the last season of the contract next season, so I don't know at the moment.

“But in this moment, for me it's not really so important. I'm really happy with Eden, because he's playing very well, he fights on the pitch, so I'm really happy with him.”

Marca have reported on a near ‘total agreement’ between all parties with the player to sign a six-year deal at Los Blancos.
