Barcelona to recall Marc Cucurella from Eibar

Barcelona will pay €4m to re-sign full-back Marc Cucurella from Eibar this summer, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Diario Sport had previously led on the reports that the left-back, who is impressing during a season-long loan deal at the Basque club, is attracting interest from elsewhere.

Last month, it was reported Milan would be willing to pay up to €11m for the Spaniard while there had also been reports which had linked Borussia Dortmund to the defender.

Eibar have a €2m option to purchase the 20-year-old permanently at the end of the season but Barca will instead come to a mutual agreement which will see the Basque club receive a fee instead.

The full-back has made 30 first-team appearances at Ipurua this season and has shown a lot of potential, to attract scouts from several leading European clubs.

The report claims the player’s future is very much up in the air at this point, with Eibar likely to make his move permanent but could then consider an immediate sale for a profit.

Cucurella is also a Spain youth international, having represented his country between Under-16 and Under-20 levels.
