Fede Valverde insists he wants to fight for a first-team spot at Real Madrid: “If a player wants to leave Real Madrid, there is something wrong inside their head.”
The 20-year-old has made 23 appearances for Los Blancos this season having returned from a loan stint at Deportivo La Coruna last summer.
Indeed, six of those appearances have come in Zidane’s first seven matches at the helm and it is said he is preferred ahead of Spanish duo Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente.
“If a player wants to leave Real Madrid, there is something wrong inside their head,” Valverde told Onda Cero radio.
“So if I have the opportunity of remaining given to me by the club, of course I will stay.”
The Uruguayan is under contract at Madrid until 2021.
