Chelsea to lower asking price for Eden Hazard

Chelsea are set to lower their transfer fee for Eden Hazard amid Real Madrid discussions, according to a report in Diario AS.

Despite being under a transfer ban, the report claims the Blues are putting in provisional plans to sign Lille forward Nicolas Pepe should this be overturned.

Subsequently, they are prepared to reduce their asking price for their Belgian star from €116m to €104m (with Madrid hopeful of a €90m move), meaning a deal is more likely to go through swiftly.

Hazard has already scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists for the outgoing FA Cup holders this season and a move to Los Blancos is looking increasingly likely.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the outgoing European champions with reports that he is currently house-hunting in the Spanish capital.

Marca have reported on a near ‘total agreement’ between all parties with the player to sign a six-year deal at Los Blancos, but these latest comments suggest he is not pushing for a Stamford Bridge exit.
