Atletico Madrid are in talks with FC Porto for defender Alex Telles and are prepared to activate his €40m release clause, say reports.
Telles has also been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Juventus while Porto are said to be adopting a stance that they will not sell the defender for less than his clause.
Atleti are likely to strengthen in the position this summer following Lucas Hernandez’s €80m move to Bayern Munich while Filipe Luis is also out of contract.
The Mail say the two clubs are now in negotiations for the Brazilian full-back although it is expected the move will go through.
The 26-year-old has previously enjoyed spells at Inter and Galatasaray and last season helped Porto to their first league title since 2013.
A previous report in Diario AS also outlined a number of other potential left-back options with Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico, Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo and Jose Luis Gaya of Valencia under consideration.
