Eden Hazard could stay at Chelsea – Eidur Gudjohnsen

Former Chelsea and Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen believes Eden Hazard may stay at Stamford Bridge if the club qualify for the Champions League.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, with Marca reporting ‘near total agreement’ between all parties and Cadena Cope saying the Belgian is house hunting in Madrid.

“It's difficult and dependent on your situation – dependent on your desires and your dreams are,” Gudjohnsen told Omnisport, as cited by Sportskeeda.

“I do not know Eden Hazard personally, he's always spoken very fondly of Chelsea and how happy is he there.

“It just depends on what you happen in the future – maybe Champions League football will make a huge difference for him.

“That gives it even more importance for Chelsea to go on and win this cup, if they do not manage to qualify through the Premier League.

“Eden Hazard is obviously one of the best players in the Premier League, a player with probably the most quality.

“[I am] a bit uncertain about what his future holds, but I think at the end of the season we'll have a lot of these questions answered.”
