Casemiro: We had control, but Valencia took their chances

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro was left frustrated as Los Blancos suffered their first defeat since the return of Zinedine Zidane, with a 2-1 La Liga loss at Valencia.

Goals from Goncalo Guedes and Ezequiel Garay sealed the win for the hosts, with Karim Benzema grabbing a late consolation, however the Brazilian did not believe the result reflected the game.

"They were not superior, we controlled the first half, but in the final minutes they got the goal to win the game.

"We had control of the game, it was in our hands in the first half.

"We worked hard after the break, but goals are the important thing in football, but we scored too late."

Zidane's side remain five points behind Atletico Madrid in third place in La Liga, whilst Valencia move into fifth – one point behind fourth place Getafe.
