Zinedine Zidane insists his son Luca was selected for Real Madrid against Huesca on Sunday based on his own merits.
The 20-year-old was selected ahead of Keylor Navas and Thibaut Courtois for the victory, with the boss indicating his son could feature more in times to come.
“Luca is selected because of his own hard work, nothing else,” Zidane told reporters on Tuesday.
“He is an established part of our squad and he has been at the club for four years…it is natural he is spoken about in relation to me, but he is just like any other young player at Madrid.
“I do not pay attention to those who make personal remarks, Madrid are a club who give opportunities to young players who deserve their chance.
“We do not know what goalkeepers will be at the club next season but as things stand we have three very good goalkeepers, so this situation will become clear soon.
“Rotations for Valencia? I have said that was the plan after the Huesca game, and we are really looking forward to this match despite the late kick-off time.”
