Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera wanted by Barcelona, Arsenal

Barcelona and Arsenal have joined the race to sign out-of-contract Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera this summer, say ESPN FC.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, meaning that he has been free to discuss terms with other clubs since January.

A report in Diario AS last week claimed the Spaniard would join Paris Saint-Germain on a three-year contract, with a ‘significant wage increase’ from a reported €112k per week up to €170k per week.

“A possible move? It would be logical because I am in the final three months of my contract, something was bound to come out,” Herrera told El Periodico earlier this week.

Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club Bilbao have both previously been linked to the combative central midfielder, alongside Italian side Roma.

Herrera joined United in 2014 in a €30m deal and has made 186 appearances to date for the club, scoring 20 goals.
