L’Equipe: Deschamps tips Zidane for future French role

France manager Didier Deschamps believes that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will one day take over the reigns with Les Bleus.

Zidane, who won the World Cup and European Championships as a player with France alongside Deschamps, has long been linked with a role with the national side, and his former captain believes it is only a matter of time.

"One day he will have a part to play and he will take this job, he told L'Equipe

"I don't know when. I could have even happened before, I don't know.

"But it (managing France) seems like a logical choice for him, as it was for me."

France kicked off their Euro 2020 qualification campaign with a 4-1 win away in Moldova, and Deschamps' World Cup winners face Iceland in Paris on Monday night.
