Liverpool are the favourites to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio this summer and not Juventus, according to fresh reports in Italy.
On Monday, Turin-based Tuttosport claimed Juve – who swooped for Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid last summer – have already made an enquiry for the in-demand Asensio.
However, Tuttomercatoweb has now countered this report by stating it is the Merseyside club who are ‘in the front row’ for the Spaniard.
Asensio turns 23-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Inter and various reports have mentioned the Spain international could be set for a move away from Los Blancos.
The forward did not start Saturday’s El Clasico defeat against Barcelona – the 17th time he has started on the bench this season, fuelling speculation of an exit.
Bayern Munich and Inter have also been linked to the player, who has scored five goals and provided as many assists for Madrid this season.
