Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is in danger of collecting a domestic suspension ahead of the crucial El Clasico double header in the next fortnight.
The left back has collected four La Liga bookings so far this season, and a caution against Sevilla, in their next league game on Saturday February 23rd, would see him miss the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu on March 2nd.
With no senior cover at left back, the situation is a concern for manager Ernesto Valverde, paricularly as fellow defender Clement Lenglet and midfielder Arturo Vidal, are also sitting on four league bookings, with Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Luis Suarez on three each.
Alba and Suarez are also at risk of a Copa del Rey ban, after collecting three bookings in the cup so far in 2018-19, and a booking in the semi final second leg against Real Madrid would see them ruled out of the final – in a carbon copy of Sergio Ramos' situation ahead of the last four clash.
