Andres Iniesta ‘finds it tough to adapt in Japan’

Former Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has revealed he has found it tough to adapt to Japanese culture since joining Vissel Kobe last year.

Iniesta ended 22 years of service to Barca last summer as he joined the J-League side, and he is taking Japanese classes every week.

“It has not been easy to adapt, either in a sporting sense or a personal one,” Iniesta told Esquire, as cited by Diario Sport.

“Japanese culture is so much different from our own but me and my wife are now adapting and enjoying the experience, while our children found it much easier.

“The culture here is much calmer here, you can see it all around you and in the stadium, on the pitch – there is strong support but it is not the same level of anger and they deal with defeats differently.”
