Real Madrid reopen pursuit of Eden Hazard

Real Madrid will focus their attention on bringing Chelsea's Eden Hazard to the club, after ending their interest in Tottenham's Christian Eriksen.

According to media reports in Spain, Real have dropped their pursuit of Eriksen, and they will now focus all of their energy on bringing the Belgian international to Spain.

Santiago Solari's side were linked with Hazard throughout the summer, following an impressive showing at the World Cup, however Chelsea were unwilling to sell their prized asset.

However, Hazard will enter into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge this summer, and so far he has shown little sign of signing a new deal with the Premier League side.

Real will redouble their efforts in the close season, in order to have Hazard in place ahead of the 2019-20 campaign. However they will have to bargain over a transfer fee – with Hazard reportedly currently valued at €150m, but due to his contract situation, Real are unlikely to want to pay more than €100m.
