Real Madrid interested in Bernardo Silva move

Real Madrid are eyeing up a shock move for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Santiago Solari's side have been linked with moves for Premier League players throughout the past twelve months, with Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Tottenham's Christian Eriksen believed to be amongst their targets.

However the Portuguese international is now attracting the attention of the Spanish giants, following an impressive second season in the Premier League. He has netted seven goals and provided seven assists for Pep Guardiola's side in 2018-19 – cushioning the absence of Kevin De Bruyne this season.

He is highly rated by the Premier League champions, with Guardiola viewing him as the natural replacement for namesake David, who, at 33, is approaching the end of his career.

Any move for the 24 year old would command a higher fee than the €50 million Manchester City paid Monaco for the midfielder in 2017, particularly as he is under contract until 2022 at the Etihad Stadium.
