Lionel Messi has admitted he ‘would love’ to see Neymar return to Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain but confessed it would be ‘difficult’.
The Brazilian joined the Parisians last summer in a world record €222m deal but has been linked with a return to La Liga in the time since.
“That would be a difficult situation,” Messi admitted in an interview with Marca when quizzed over the Brazilian’s return.
“We would love for him to return because of his quality as a player but moreover what he would bring to the dressing room.
“Together we are friends and have gone through a lot of times together, some nice and others not so good, but it is difficult to imagine that PSG will sell him.”
Messi also spoke on his future, following comments from Cristiano Ronaldo challenging him to join him in Italy: “I don’t need to change, I am playing for the world’s best team.
“I am always finding new objectives and targets each season but this is my home and I do not have a reason to leave.”
