Dani Carvajal insists ‘brave’ Isco not impacted by Real Madrid whistles

Dani Carvajal has defended ‘brave’ Real Madrid teammate Isco, insists the playmaker will not ‘hide’ in the face of whistles from fans.

Isco was whistled by fans during Madrid’s shock 3-0 home defeat against CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night – the club’s worst European home defeat in their history.

“I do not know if Isco was whistled by the fans or not,” Carvajal told Movistar+.

“The only thing I know for sure is that Isco is brave, he will not let whistles get to him and he will not hide if they happen.

“He always demands the ball, he always try to force changes in the game and to make his mark, and that won’t change.

“A few weeks ago there was a lot of talk that a lot of our youth players could play but maybe it has been proven they are not ready for the first team yet.

“This was not an important match with consequences, if you want to view it in that light but it was an official match for us and it was bad.

“We had enough opportunities that we did not take and CSKA punished us but we have achieved first place in the group, which was our objective.”
