Denis Suarez ‘not happy’ at Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has declared he is ‘not happy’ at the club and will consider a move away due to lack of playing time.

The 24-year-old had been strongly linked with a move away from the Camp Nou but despite remaining at the club, he only played 10 minutes of first-team football this season outside of the Copa del Rey.

The midfielder, formerly of Sevilla and Villarreal, joined the club from Manchester City in 2013 and scored twice in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa.

“I'm not happy, because I do not play and that's what I want, to play,” Suarez – who was recently linked to Arsenal and Milan by RAC1 – is cited as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

“I work to play, if I do not play then we will see.”

Suarez said after Wednesday’s victory over Cultural Leonesa: “I am happy with the goals and with the minutes. I’m happy too because of the youth team players earning minutes.”

Ernesto Valverde spoke directly of the midfielder after the match: “I am pleased for him, we saw the best of him to day and the option (to play) is good for him and good for us.”
