Marca are the latest outlet to report on Arsenal’s interest in Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals, who is said to be high on Unai Emery’s wanted list.
Earlier this month, Cadena Ser stated the Spaniard rejected offers from Fulham and West Ham because does not want to ‘abandon his team in the situation in which it is currently’.
However, earlier this week British tabloid outlet The Sun reported on Arsenal’s interest in the 22-year-old and this has now been fleshed out somewhat by Madrid-daily Marca.
Fornals is said to have a €30m release clause in his contract with the Yellow Submarine and the North London side are hoping to replace Aaron Ramsey, who will leave the club on a free transfer in summer.
Marca say the Gunners may sell Mohamed Elneny to raise up to €20m in funds to help fund a deal for Fornals, who joined Villarreal from Malaga last year in an €11m deal.
