Real Betis ‘convinced’ on permanent Giovani Lo Celso deal

Real Betis vice president Miguel Lopez Catalán is ‘convinced’ that on-loan midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will remain at the club beyond this summer.

The Argentine midfielder is on a season-long loan deal at the Seville-based club from Paris Saint-Germain but Lopez Catalán has explained the details of the deal.

“We are convinced that Lo Celso is going to stay at Betis, we are very clear on this,” Lopez Catalán is cited as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

“We were also convinced on his signing right throughout the summer, even though it went into the final hour and a half of the final day of the window.

“He was our number one choice over summer and now he is proving why that was the case, he is a fabulous player.

“We have a mandatory purchase option of €25m if we qualify for European competition and if not, then we have the option to sign him for that amount if we wish – and PSG would be obliged to sell.”

Lo Celso has enjoyed a strong spell of form for Los Verdiblancos and has emerged as a regular started for Quique Setien's side.
