‘Inter go to Barcelona to win’ – Joao Miranda

Defender Joao Miranda is adamant Inter go to Barcelona ‘to win’ and is not concerned about complacency in Lionel Messi’s absence.

The Brazilian defender spent four seasons at Atletico Madrid before joining the Nerazzurri in 2015 and believes his side have the quality to earn a surprise victory at Camp Nou.

“We know that Barcelona are not just Messi, they have marvellous players who can make the difference. At the same time, we have the quality to face this type of game,” Miranda told reporters ahead of the match.

“Luis Suarez is an explosive player in attack, so fast, and undoubtedly it’ll be a great duel not just with him, but throughout the team.

“Playing against important opponents always makes me happy and Barcelona have players who can make the difference at any moment.

“We are not here to be spectators. We are here to go for the victory.

“We are well aware it is a tough group, but tomorrow’s game can give us important points and allow us to go three points clear at the top.

“It’s important, but not the final, as there are more matches to play after that.”
