Paco Alcacer: Playing Atletico Madrid like toothache

Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer has described playing Atletico Madrid as a similar experience to suffering toothache.

The Spain international has been in supreme form this season, netting 11 goals in just three starts for club and country since his loan switch from Barcelona.

“Playing Atletico is similar to toothache, definitely,” Alcacer told an interview with Marca.

“They are extremely tough to play against, they do not give you any spaces and they are completely aware of what you do and can nullify it.

“It is particularly tough for attackers because they analyse your game and know the best way to stop you from creating chances.

“This is a game against a great team who are in Europe’s elite but we must only think about our own strengths and how we can succeed.

“It is an important test for us and a good marker, we have made a good start in both the league and Champions League but this is the toughest test yet.

“We believe this group is extremely competitive and we want to keep all possibilities open as long as possible, we saw what happened to Atleti last season (eliminated at group stage).”
