Real Madrid have confirmed full-back Dani Carvajal sustained a calf injury during Tuesday’s defeat at CSKA Moscow.
The Spain international limped off in the 42nd minute of the 1-0 defeat in the Russian capital and was replaced by Alvaro Odriozola.
The 26-year-old has already had to miss games this season due to injury problems, sitting out the 1-0 win over Espanyol last month.
No timescale has been placed on Carvajal’s return but Madrid confirmed the defender, who has been excluded from Spain’s squad because of the injury, will ‘undergo further evaluation’.
Madrid’s defensive resources are currently stretched due to Marcelo’s injury, forcing Nacho Fernandez to play left-back while playmaker Isco is also out for a month with appendicitis.
