Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is unhappy with his current salary at the club and is contemplating a January move to China, say El Mundo.
The Madrid-based daily cite the Spain international’s contractual situation in relation to strike partner Antoine Griezmann, who earns significantly more.
Costa’s salary is said stand at annual sum of €8.5m while Griezmann’s contract renewal this summer has elevated his yearly wage packet to €25m.
The former Chelsea striker has not scored in La Liga since February and whilst his relationship with strike partner Griezmann is said to be strong, he is disillusioned with his current situation.
Costa has instructed his agent to sound out possibilities in moving to the Chinese Super League this January and whilst he will not push for an exit, it is said to be on his mind.
