Quique Setien hails ‘dominant’ Real Betis win at Girona

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien believes his side’s ‘very important’ three points at Girona reflect their ‘dominant’ performance.

Loren Moron’s goal separated the sides at Estadi Montilivi on Thursday night to give Betis, who are unbeaten since the opening day, only their second victory of the campaign.

“This victory represents many things,” Setien told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“This year we have started in terms of results without the reward for the dominant performances we are playing, but with a very stable line in terms of the performances and the chances created.

“The players believe in what we are doing but after a lack of results, the players were maybe a little nervous so to win at such a complicated ground is very important.

“It was an important day for Francis and for Loren, because they made the difference in the crucial moments, and the team played very well.

“Our defensive record is valuable and sometimes you need a little luck for the clean sheets, but that luck has benefitted our opponents a lot this season too.

“We are looking ahead to our next run of games with a lot more optimism.”
