Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone praised the work rate and game-plan of weekend league opponents Getafe.
Los Rojiblancos ran out two-goal victors against 10-men in the all-Madrid affair on Saturday, but the Argentine believes many sides will struggles against Geta this campaign.
“They are a team full of good players, whether it is 11 or 10 on the pitch, they will work very hard,” Simeone told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“We started the game very strongly but it was important we had a specific game-plan and we pulled this off really well again a team who will go far.
“We worked hard on preventing their deliveries into the area as we know how good their deliveries are and they also have aerial threats inside the area.
“They then began to grow into the game after the first 20 minutes and their full-backs were excellent, both Vitorino Antunes and Damian Suarez.
“They created a lot of chances and we knew we were in danger of losing our lead, so we reverted to trying to defend as we did in the opening period of the game and thankfully that saw us through.”
