Sevilla’s Gonalons breaks leg

Sevilla midfielder Maxime Gonalons looks set for a lengthy absence after suffering a broken leg, the club have confirmed.

The France international joined the Andalusian club on a season-long loan deal from Roma last month as Steven N’Zonzi moved to the Italian side in a permanent move.

The 29-year-old will now miss a minimum of six weeks of action for a broken fibula although the timescale could prove to be much longer.

Gonalons have made four appearances for Pablo Machin’s side including scoring against Czech side Sigma Olomouc in the Europa League qualification stage.
