‘Madrid missed Ronaldo’ – Casemiro

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has admitted his team missed Cristiano Ronaldo following their European Super Cup defeat to Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese star joined Juventus in a €100m deal earlier this summer and the deep-lying midfielder conceded the European champions missed his decisive quality.

“Of course, we missed Cristiano Ronaldo, this is natural,” Casemiro told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“We cannot hide from the fact we missed him, any team in the world would miss a player of his quality when he leaves.

“But this is a situation that is in the past and our squad is not better nor worse because of it. New signings? That is not a decision that is up to me.

“We are all hurting from losing this title and we are Real Madrid so we will not make excuses – we win together and lose together.”

Ronaldo netted a whopping 450 goals in 438 appearances for Los Blancos.
