Ter Stegen admits ‘penalty correct’

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen admits Sevilla’s last minute penalty was justified but he ‘could not have moved out of the way’.

The German goalkeeper was booked for bringing down former teammate Aleix Vidal in the last minute before saving Wissam Ben Yedder’s spot-kick effort.

“I could not have moved out of the way but still, it was a penalty,” Ter Stegen is cited by Marca as telling TVE post-match.

“It is important to win the title, and show that we are hungry to continue winning trophies and being able to play the level we want.”

Goals from Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele won the tie for Barca after Pablo Sarabia had given the Andalusian side an early lead.
