PSG and Monaco want Rakitic

Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are both on the trail of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who has a €125m buy-out clause in his contract.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Croatian’s impressive World Cup did not go unnoticed by some of Europe’s top clubs, who know his rescission clause at the Camp Nou is affordable in today’s inflated market.

As a result, the Catalans have received several enquiries over the 30-year-old, and two them – Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco – are understood to be weighing up offers.

Rakitic was the most used player last season by Barca boss Ernesto Valverde and since his arrival at the club from Sevilla in June 2014 has been a fixture in the starting line-up.

In the last few days there has also been speculation that Rakitic could be include in a deal to bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Spain.

However, Rakitic’s links to the Blaugrana are understood to be strong and neither party is thinking of breaking them just yet.
