Kepa: Chelsea decision ‘important’

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga acknowledges the decision to join Premier League Chelsea was a ‘very important decision’.

The 23-year-old, who has left Athletic Bilbao for Stamford Bridge in a deal worth €80m, told Chelsea’s website there were many things that attracted him to England.

“It’s an accumulation of things and I’m very happy that this club has decided to trust me and accept me,” maintained the Spain international.

“It’s a very important decision for me, for my career, and also for my personal life.

“So many things attracted me, all the titles this club has won, the other players, the city and the opportunity to play in the English Premier League.”

Kepa has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract with the Blues and will be the No 1 keeper following the departure of Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.
