Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has gone AWOL from training in a bid to force through a move to Real Madrid.
The Belgian international goalkeeper – who won the World Cup Golden Gloves award – is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and is said to be available for €35m.
The shot-stopper did not turn up for Chelsea training on Monday and ESPN FC reported earlier in the day he had already told new boss Maurizio Sarri of his intention to leave.
Madrid have held a long-standing interest in bolstering their goalkeeping department as Keylor Navas has held the number one jersey.
A report in Sky Sports says the FA Cup winners have prioritised finding a replacement and if they do not, they would risk losing the shot-stopper on a free transfer next summer.
Courtois has two children living in Madrid following his spell with Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014, while he has constantly been linked with a move to the European champions.
