Madrid ‘rule out’ Hazard, focus on Isco

The hierarchy of Real Madrid have dispensed with the idea of signing Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard and will instead prioritise Isco’s role, say Diario AS.

The complexity of the deal for the Belgian has dampened Madrid’s interest in a transfer, according to the report, with the financial outlay and need for decisiveness said to be off-putting factors.

The FA Cup winners would likely demand in the region of €200m for any deal while due to the early closure of the English transfer window, a move would need to be swiftly drawn up.

Madrid also believe Coach Julen Lopetegui will maximise the potential of playmaker Isco, who starred under the boss at national team level with Spain.

The European champions will not make a ‘galactico’ signing this summer and continue to place their trust in the former Malaga man, alongside Marco Asensio.
