Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo is being linked with a surprise move to Barcelona.
According to Sport, the former Real Madrid and Getafe playmaker is an express wish of Barca boss Ernesto Valverde, although the club’s hierarchy are still to be convinced.
The 29-year-old was on the Catalan giants’ agenda last year but a surplus of central midfielders meant any possible deal was put on hold
However, it now appears that could be resurrected as relations between the player’s new agent and the Spanish champions are cordial.
Parejo, who has one Spain cap, has a €50m buy-out clause in his contract at Mestalla, something that could prove a major stumbling block.
It is understood Parejo would look favourably on a move to the Camp Nou after seven years with Los Che, who signed him from Getafe for a reported €6m after a loan spell in England with Queens Park Rangers.
