Sevilla have agreed a deal to sign Rennes defender and France Under-21 international Joris Gnagnon, according to multiple reports.
The 21-year-old – who was said to be courted by the club when Monchi was still sporting director last year – is set to join Los Rojiblancos this week in a €15m deal.
Chelsea were reported to have made their interest in the defender who is of Ivorian descent although the player has previously insisted he preferred to remain in Ligue 1.
Gnagnon has played in a total of 79 first-team matches for Rennes, where he has scored twice, and is set to join Sevilla alongside Celta Vigo defender Sergi Gomez.
The club have already completed deals for Roque Mesa, Tomas Vaclik and Ibrahim Amadou this summer.
