Arsenal are holding talks with Sevilla over the transfer of Steven N’Zonzi and are attempting to negotiate down his €40m release clause, say reports.
The 29-year-old has been continually linked with a move away from Los Rojiblancos, with France Football reporting that talks are ongoing for the midfielder.
The French international – who helped his nation to this summer’s World Cup triumph – has a €40m termination clause in his contract and has been linked with a number of top European clubs.
N’Zonzi previously spent six years in the Premier League across stints with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, before joining Sevilla in 2015.
Unai Emery is the new Gunners boss and he was in the Sevilla hot-seat when the midfielder was brought to the Andalusian club.
