Celta Vigo full-back Jonny Castro will reportedly be loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers once his transfer to Atletico Madrid is finalised.
According to AS, Jonny’s switch to Atleti will go through on Monday, with Los Colchoneros paying €7m plus bonuses for the 24-year-old, whose contract was due to expire next summer.
However, the newspaper does not expect him to stay at Wanda Metropolitano for long due to the capital side having already reached their wage limit.
Consequently, ‘everything indicates’ to Jonny travelling to England on Tuesday or Wednesday with the purpose of signing for Wolves on a loan basis.
The right-footed left-sider will be coached by Nuno Santo, who led Valencia to the 2015-16 Champions League group stage and, most recently, the English club to the Premier League, a division the player ‘has always wanted to try out’.
