New Barcelona signing Arthur Melo has revealed how Brazilian compatriot Neymar ‘convinced’ him to join the Catalan giants.
Neymar spent four years at the Camp Nou but left in a world record €222m deal to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but persuaded the former Gremio man to join the Spanish champions.
“Neymar helped convince me to sign for Barcelona,” Arthur told an interview with El Mundo Deportivo.
“He sent me messages of positivity about how this was a wonderful club in a fantastic city with great weather and a good lifestyle, with brilliant people around you.
“He convinced me that I would like it here and would have no regrets about this move, so it definitely helped.
“Messi? My dream is to play alongside him because he is the best player in the world.
“Coutinho? We were messaging each other on the day of my signing and I am looking forward to playing with him.”
