Portuguese giants Sporting CP are interested in signing Real Betis midfielder Javi Garcia as a direct replacement for William Carvalho, say reports.
Garcia joined Los Verdiblancos from Zenit St Petersburg last summer in a €1.5m deal and his current deal in Seville runs through until June 2020.
ABC de Sevilla cite a report in Portuguese media outlet that the Lisbon-based giants want the Spaniard to replace Carvalho, who joined Betis last week.
The former Manchester City midfielder previously played in Portugal between 2009 and 2012 for Sporting’s city rivals Benfica.
