Santi Cazorla admits he ‘feels like a footballer again’ after returning to pre-season training with Villarreal after almost two years out injured.
The 33-year-old has sat out over 18 months of action after suffering an Achilles tendon injury in a Champions League match and revealed in November how doctors had told him he would be lucky to walk again.
“I am happy now because I feel like a footballer again,” Cazorla wrote on his Twitter account.
“There is still a lot of work to come but I have more enthusiasm than ever.”
The playmaker left Arsenal at the beginning of the summer following the expiration of his contract and is now training with the Yellow Submarine, for whom he previously played, as a free agent.
