Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby will undergo a medical at Valencia on Thursday ahead of his €15m move, according to reports.
On Wednesday, a report in Valencia-based Plaza Deportiva says the 21-year-old’s move to the Mestalla is ‘all but official’ with an announcement expected ‘imminently’.
This follows on from reports in both Onda Cero and Cadena Cope which stated the two clubs have struck a deal for a defender who has also been linked to Barcelona and English club Southampton in recent times.
Diakhaby arrived in Valencia airport on Wednesday evening and is expected to undergo his medical on Thursday.
The defender, who is of Guinean descent, has represented France eight times at Under-21 level and has been a part of Lyon’s first-team squad since September 2016.
However, despite making 22 Ligue 1 appearances in his debut season, Diakhaby started just eight league games last term due to a loss of form and injury problems.
