‘Spain achieved targets’ – Iniesta

Andres Iniesta has offered an upbeat view of Spain’s World Cup progression by insisting ‘we have achieved our target.’

La Roja topped Group B after salvaging a last-minute equaliser against Morocco on Monday evening and will face Russia in the next round.

“We have achieved our target, we have won the group and we are through to the next round,” Iniesta told reporters in the mixed zone after the match.

“We have come out on top and that shows how much quality we have, even if we do not always reach our potential.

“Self-criticism? Of course we can improve. Hierro has said it. Isco has said it. I agree too, we can play much better than this.

“Now have the opportunity to analyse our own performance and look ahead to our next opponent, but we are optimistic.”
