Report: Barca to sell Mina

The Catalan Press expects Barcelona to sell Yerry Mina this summer, just five months after signing the defender.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Mina will be sacrificed so Gremio midfielder Arthur can join this summer, with the Colombian currently occupying Barca’s third and final non-EU spot.

The Blaugrana paid Palmeiras €11.6m for the 23-year-old in January, but he has played just five times for the Spanish champions.

The newspaper explains Barca have doubts over his ‘tactical’ understanding and are prepared to sell him.

Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti are their first-choice partnership in central defence, while Thomas Vermaelen has proven himself as a backup and Clement Lenglet could arrive from Sevilla.

Clubs from England would be interested in Mina, as are Borussia Dortmund, who rate his ‘spectacular physique, power, youth and international status’ and tried to sign him in January.

MD notes Dortmund offered €25m for the player in January, while Turkish side Fenerbahce could take advantage of their ‘good relationship’ with Barca, with sporting director Damien Comolli scheduled to meet the Catalans’ board this weekend.
