Valencia are closing in on a €15m deal to sign Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby, according to reports in the Spanish press.
The 21-year-old has already been linked with a move to Los Che by Le10Sport and the well-renowned French sports daily L’Equipe has confirmed the Spanish club’s interest.
However, both Onda Cero and Cadena Cope say the two clubs have struck a deal for a defender who has also been linked to Barcelona and English club Southampton in recent times.
The defender, who is of Guinean descent, has represented France eight times at Under-21 level and has been a part of Lyon’s first-team squad since September 2016.
However, despite making 22 Ligue 1 appearances in his debut season, Diakhaby started just eight league games last term due to a loss of form and injury problems.
