Sevilla Director of Football Joaquin Caparros insists a number of transfer targets are ‘at an advanced stage’ but ‘the rat is not in the can’.
Los Rojiblancos are yet to announce any new signings but have been linked with a number of targets including permanent moves for loanees Miguel Layun, Roque Mesa and Sandro Ramirez.
“There will be additions, but not as many as some people believe,” Caparros told reporters, as cited by Sevilla Info, while being presented with an honorary degree at the Sevilla University.
“It is true that we have not presented any footballer, but we have many things prepared and at an advanced stage.
“It's not easy in a year with the World Cup, where most of the negotiators are watching footballers who are there.
“But yes, there are very advanced things, we are working hard and we are satisfied with what we are doing. Of course, until the rat is not in the can, you cannot say that things are done.”
