PSG interest in Celta’s Lobotka

Paris Saint-Germain are considering joining Napoli in the race to sign in-demand Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports in Spain.

Earleir this week, Faro de Vigo reported the Serie A runners-up were in ‘advanced negotiations’ for the Slovakian midfielder but his €40m release clause has not yet been triggered by the Italian club.

Indications suggest the Naples-based club have lodged an offer in the region of €35m, which includes bonuses, but Celta will try to maximise any profit on a deal.

El Desmarque now report the French champions are considering an official approach for a player ‘they have admired for months’ as they attempted to strengthen their squad.

The 23-year-old featured in all 38 La Liga matches this season for the Galician side since joining from Danish club Nordsjaelland last summer and has impressed at both club and international level for Slovakia.

Lobotka’s deal to Celta last summer was priced at €5m while he signed a new deal at Estadio Balaidos in February, extending his deal until 2021 and boosting his release clause to €40m.

In January, Inter had been linked with a move for the central midfielder but were knocked back in their advances.
