Porto value Sevilla-target Layun at €6m

Porto are placing a valuation of €6m on defender Miguel Layun, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla.

The 29-year-old – who impressed for Mexico against Germany in Sunday’s World Cup clash – made 16 La Liga appearances for Los Rojiblancos since joining on a January loan deal from the Portuguese giants.

Los Rojiblancos decided not to trigger their €4m option to sign the full-back but are reportedly still pondering on a permanent move for the former Watford defender.

“My future? I still do not know, until now there is nothing certain,” Layun told Cadena Cope earlier this week.

“I know that the people of Porto want me to return, but nothing is clear at the moment and I know they have made some additions.

“I have stayed quiet because I want to enjoy the World Cup very much and be focused on it. We know how football is.

“There is nothing clear yet regarding my future, we will see if any door is opened that is good for my career and to see what comes in the future.”
